A BACHELOR AUCTION REPORT – THE GROUP DATE!

July 28, 2008

Thank you for all who made the Bachelor Auction so successful!

Thank you for all who made the Bachelor Auction so successful!

EventLady is at it again! On Sunday, June 29th the final (and certainly the most exciting!) phase of the Firefighter Bachelor Auction took place, and boy was it hot! The 10 bachelors (thank you, guys!) and their respective dates met at 10:30 a.m. at PacBell Park, where fresh hot Peet’s coffee awaited. Once everyone convened we all loaded onto our 20-passenger luxury limo party bus from Hobo Limousine, and we were off to Livermore for a glorious afternoon of wine tasting.

And did I mention the party bus had a dance pole!? A few passengers brought CDs and iPods to play music and before long, we were a mobile dance party. Our #1 Bachelor, Tyrone Mancuso enlivened the experience by dancing with yours truly and before long, everyone was grooving in their seats and in the aisle. In fact, the crew was having so much fun that, by the time we arrived at Mitchell Katz Winery, nobody wanted to get off the bus! Always on top of time and fun-management, I ushered everyone inside to enjoy some wine and then we all sat out in the glorious Livermore summer sun to dine on gourmet packed lunches from Nob Hill Catering.

After lunch, getting the crew back on the bus was little problem at all. With several friends purchasing bottles of champagne and wine, we were off again, dancing and having a great time. When we arrived at Wente’ Vineyards, EventLady again had to force this party-crew off the bus, this time with only moderate success. Several people actually stayed on the bus to keep dancing!

In all, the Bachelors and their winning ladies spent over an hour at each of two picturesque vineyards, but what will most likely stay in their memories was the bus ride. Even the ladies that were originally anxious about attending the group date mentioned that it far exceeded all expectation.

So as these lucky 20 learned, an EventLady production and the Alisa Ann Ruch Burn Foundation’s Bachelor Auction is not one to miss! I eagerly look forward to seeing some of my new friends from the bus (and hopefully some of their friends, too) at next year’s Bachelor Auction, which will most definitely be even bigger and better. I am so thankful to my 10 Bachelors and their dates for helping us raise over $16,000 dollars at this event. Maybe in time we’ll even hear wedding bells!
