Upon returning to work after a week at Champ Camp I am facing a bit of post camp depression. The experiences of the week are too amazing and too powerful to describe to anyone who has never spent a week with “our kids.” I think about the time I spend at Wonder Valley with the volunteers and campers and feel fortunate, loved and inspired. I have been volunteering at Champ Camp and other burn foundation events for over 6 years now and find that the energy created by the location, the purpose, and the intention of camp is absolutely priceless. Sometimes people ask me how I do what I do. I have to ask, how could I not do this? For me, camp puts the rest of life in perspective. By sharing the love and joy of camp with all the campers, counselors and staff members I make my life what it is supposed to be. Thank you to all of those who support camp. Thank you counselors. Thank you staff. Thank you campers.
